Ted Dybaer

Born in 1987 in Germany’s Ruhr region, many passions have found a place in my life. One of them is my love of games and sports — whether analogue or digital. A joy of movement, strategic puzzles, fantasy and science fiction has been with me for as long as I can remember.

Since 2011, I have been working full-time as a physiotherapist. Working with people, some of whom are seriously ill, can be demanding both mentally and physically. But when progress becomes visible, that alone makes it worthwhile.

Around 2017, I discovered my love of writing. At first, I simply collected ideas and developed them further until I eventually felt the desire to create something more substantial. From this grew an odyssey set in a dystopian Greece. Along the way, I also wrote several short stories as writing exercises.

I don’t limit myself to a single genre — I write whatever I enjoy. Darkly tinged fairy tales, satirical texts or epic stories — my mind follows its own path. But I feel most at home in science fiction, fantasy and science fantasy.

My great dream is to complete the saga of the gods that first took shape in my mind so many years ago — and to entertain and inspire people with my writing. Because nothing compares to a good story. Unfortunately, the entertainment industry often lacks the courage to explore new adventures; instead, familiar heroes are brought back again and again.

Among my literary influences are Tolkien, J. K. Rowling and George R. R. Martin, all of whom created remarkable universes. But Buddhist short stories have also shaped me and taught me a great deal about myself.

Since 2025, I have also been a husband and father. This new role has changed the way I look at life. It is one of the reasons I created this website: to show my son that dreams can become reality — and that hard work, patience and passion can eventually pay off.
